WEST BRETTON Cricket Club

Everyone has the right to enjoy cricket safely.

West Bretton Cricket Club is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for children, young people, adults at risk and everyone involved with the Club. Safeguarding is the responsibility of all of us.

A safe environment is everyone's responsibility

Our safeguarding approach follows the principles of the ECB Safe Hands framework and applicable safeguarding requirements. We aim to make it simple for members, parents, carers, volunteers and visitors to understand the standards we expect and how to raise a concern.

  • We appoint an appropriately trained Club Safeguarding Officer as the principal point of contact for concerns.
  • We use safer recruitment, appropriate ECB DBS vetting and safeguarding training where roles require it.
  • We expect appropriate supervision, professional boundaries and safe communication with children and young people.
  • We have clear arrangements for photography, live streaming, travel, junior cricket and responding to bullying.
  • We respond promptly to concerns and refer matters through the appropriate safeguarding route when necessary.
